Site Update

December 8th, 2025

This past week, I added information to the Links and Art & Letters pages of this site. I have more to add for both, but this is enough for the time being.

Something I've been thinking about a lot recently... there are many different ways to describe the same idea: Self-care, R and R, filling the cup, just to name a few. Essentially, whatever it is you do to regain your energy and motivation after having to use it significantly.

I work with young people, and have to practice a huge amount of patience and empathy every day. It tires me out, and sometimes I can feel totally cynical and drained by the end of the day. Getting back to baseline takes a long time, and a lot of patience and empathy for myself. Combined with the never ending to-do lists of daily life, I can easily get overwhelmed and lose track of what matters.

Having a personal project like this is a good anchor for me to manage my energy and attention to myself. I click-clack away a little every day, further developing a self-taught skill. Everything I put on my website it my specific interest, or something I'm proud of and want to share. It's just a few files hosted in a corner of the web, but it helps me feel more like me every time I work on it.

Recent Things:

  • Re-watched FLCL (2000) with my anime club, had a wonderful time.
  • Finished an art trade with a good friend, which is motivating me to make some image galleries for this site.
  • Woke up in a good mood for once.

Welcome!

December 4th, 2025

I've spent more hours working on webmastery this year than any other year of my adult life combined, and that steam has finally lead me to the layout we have now. Along with working to get a true understanding of HTML/CSS, I've been doing a lot of writing, reflecting, and research to determine what I actually want my presence on the web to be like. A year ago I thought that would just meant, 'how should my website look?', but now it's a question with implications reaching into every facet of my life and identity. Oops!

I'm working on writing up pages about the most significant art projects I've organized and contributed to, and compiling a tidy list of resources and cool sites to put on my links page. Once the serious business is taken care of, who knows what silliness I'll add. My goal with creative projects is typically to keep things tidy and straightforward, but I also enjoy leafing through dense web pages with many connected pages, (hypertext & ergodic lit has been an interest as of late) so I'll try to leave room to grow.

Recent Things:

  • Three inches of snow this week!
  • Music: Tomorrow's Harvest by Boards of Canada, A Certain Distance by Lusine
  • Switching to a new (weird) phone this week, ought to make a page about that
