Taking my time trying to write about my friends’ art, I went to the library this weekend (not to work) and read through stacks from the foot of my bed that I dragged along and brushed through call numbers to look for anything that made my brain remember how to read: Having fun isn’t hard // And so on and so forth.

I figured out that everything I post on here doesn’t have to be a thorough, rhetorically-grounded essay, context locked-in and language future-proofed. I can goof off; Play, even. I finished my first art journal to the last free page, and I enjoyed it more than any sketchbook I’ve ever owned. I read through The Idea of An Entire Life and remembered how naturally it can feel to make art. I've built up a lot of apathy over time, I want to give it away.

This evening was the donation ceremony, the final performance/viewing/happening of Furpile. I stuck around before (to give some extra care to a few of the pieces before they were let go) and after (to get an ice cream sundae). In the hanging-out before we walked to the thrift store, Ricky and Cass demonstrated making a "Fight Drawing":

No Winners, No Losers.

On the way to the back lot of the thrift store: "just me, my best friends, and seventy unique artworks from around the world!" We wondered how many people would show up -- it was a lot! I kept seeing folks who I didn't even recognize from previous viewings. It made me feel like I was in the right place in my life.

For some time I was in the lab researching a new way to enjoy living the way I did when it was all new; The numbers are in and we're nearly there again. The computer is warm and fun and I'm in it, too.
