The sexiest photo I've ever taken.
I'm very happy to report that there has been so much going on already this month, I don't have the words to keep up with it. So here are some photos from my life, enjoy.
Furpile
At the end of May, my friend Patrick Totally's newest curatorial venture, Furpile, opened to the public. I've been working this show as a plushie doctor, and using the opportunities to take lots of photos and videos of folks playing with the work in the show.
Here's a video from the opening of the show, which took place at HQ -- the Southside furry hangout house.
First Friday attendees visiting the plushies at Mary's Bar on Penn ave.
Coming up this Saturday is the video art screening at Glitterbox in Homestead, PA. I'm really excited for this one! This is the most unique art show I've ever been able to see, and I'm grateful to be one of the people helping to make it happen.
I Love Furry
I don't even know what to say about this one -- the second Furry show at Bunker Projects, spiritual sequel to Room Party, fantastic achievement of my dear friend Tommy Bruce, great excuse to hang out, among many others. I want to sit down this summer and collect all my thoughts about the ripple-out effect of Room Party, but for now I'll just show you the photos I took of this beautiful show (which I was also lucky to get to help install).
I have no idea who took this photo, but it's from the first time Auryn and I screened cartoons from a 16mm projector in the main hotel at FWA.
Photo from the Room Party panel at AC25, when several of the artists who were at the con in person were able to come up and talk about their experience being part of the show.
Rodo and I getting inspiration for our new apartment at IKEA.
The prince of the forest, chilling in the iconic Bunker gallery chair.
Smoooooch!
Open Mic Night
The best house party I've ever been to was last year's HQ open mic, for Ashley Ninelives' birthday that February. I was so excited when I found out they were hosting another one! Tommy and I did a performance using my overhead projector. I know other folks took photos, I might add those later.
A thrilling performance of a clown inflating potentially unstable balloons.
The inaugural performance of Jae and Gene's noise duo, I Love You More Than You Will Ever Know.
Cass did a performance I can only describe as 'Drag Race Talent Show Wildcard'.
That's a hammer they're holding.
DJ Marcy Anime did the worst set ever; I was handed the reins as VJ. I did not choose the Obama video but I did put [S] Cascade on at one point.
Oh yeah, and Anthrocon hasn't even happened yet. Even though this summer is busy, I'm just glad my life and mental health are way more stable than they were last year. Hopefully I'll be able to better enjoy the chaos while I'm in it this time around.
